About GRI & Reporting

      We are a member of the GOLD Community and support the mission of GRI to empower decision makers everywhere, through GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards and its multi-stakeholder network, to take action towards a more sustainable economy and world.

      The first global standards for sustainability reporting are the GRI Standards. On a field of economic, environmental and social impacts, they represent the best practice worldwide in reporting and they feature a modular, corresponding structure.

  GRI roots lie in the US non-profit organizations, the Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economies (CERES) and the Tellus Institute. The company was founded in Boston, USA. In the establishment of GRI was also involved The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

  GRI started the first global standards for sustainability reporting October 2016. The GRI Standards developed by the Global Sustainability Standards Board (GSSB) offer to all organizations the possibility to report publicly their economic, environmental and social impacts, and to show which solutions they provide for a sustainable development. The GRI Standards have a commutable structure so they can be kept current and appropriate and are also a trusted reference for policy makers and managers.

      Our company is the 4th GRI Gold registered Member from Romania and the 5th, which presented a non-financial report.

     

Our sustainability story

      Our company have been always concerned on how to improve the sustainability strategy for its clients. The actual environmental and social concerns, like global warming, health, pooverty, human rights have highlighted the need for sustainability reporting. A sustainability report will also position a brand as a responsible company. Organizations can improve their sustainability performance by reporting on it, helping them have a positive impact on society, the economy, and a sustainable future.

      An effective sustainability reporting cycle, which includes a regular program of data collection, communication, and responses, should benefit all reporting organizations, both internally and externally.

      This is how we became the 4th CSR agency in Romania that became a GRI GOLD Member and that attened the Pioneering Program and the Certified Training Program GRI, this year.

      MMC focuses on sustainability services in envirorment, climate change, community, health, social causes, human rights, business, gender equality, since 2012.

At the School Sports Club 1 from Timisoara, about 100 of young judoka from the Sports Club CSS Lugoj, from Pro Motrica Timisoara, Makotokan Dojo Timisoara and from the Sports Club Judo Phoenix Timisoara have proved their artistry in front of their parents.

Social Return on Investment

      What is SROI ?

   Social Return on Investment (SROI) is a way to measure and communicate a valuable, wide concept that includes social, economic and environmental impacts.

   It measures the value achieved by our activities and its contributions. It tells a story from our stakeholder’s point of view about how our activities have an effect on change.

  SROI can include social, economic and environmental results, but it focuses on stakeholders deciding which of them are relevant. There are two types of SROI:

  Evaluative SROIs work retrospectively on results that have already been achieved.

- Forecast SROIs predict the quantity of social value that will be accomplished if the activities achieve their results.

- Forecast SROIs are helpful when planning a project or to allow you to realize an evaluative SROI, if you have not achieved the desired results.

    SROI started from social accounting and cost-benefit analysis. Although it has a lot in common with the approaching of other results, it is very different from them because it gives results a monetary value in order to be summed up and compared to the investment made.

The Social Impact

      What is meant by social impact ?

   There is no precise definition of the term or concept of social impact. The "measurement of the social impact", means the effects of the social impact on the different people, in result of an activity, a project, a program, or a policy. The effects of social impact can be:

   - positive or negative;

   - intentional or unintentional;

   - a combination of the above.

  The social impact of an action or activity on certain individuals, organizations, institutions and / or entities that do not engage directly in this area can be immediate and direct, or it can be broader. There also is the possibility that those involved in a particular action or activity are not aware of being affected by the action or activity in question, although the impact could be very important to them.

  From the point of view of measuring the social impact, it can be considered as a change that happens to people as a result of an action or activity. Third-sector organizations, financiers, government agencies and the public sector, as well as some commercial agencies are often concerned to bring up positive changes for people and for the whole society. In this context, understanding the level of change created by an activity can be very important in the planning, financing, commissioning, or for purchasing services.

    The measuring, estimating or assessing the social impact is focused on the results of an activity, and not on the activity itself. Therefore, one might say that estimating and assessing the social impact focuses on the RESULTS of an activity and not on the processes or outputs of the meant activity.

   Depending on the perspective of the interested party conducting the social impact assessment, there are different philosophies, methods and tools associated to the concept of "social impact" and to its measurement. This site does not aim to provide information on all these ideas and approaches regarding the social impact, it just aims to provide :

   - a starting point for those interested in learning more on this subject and

   - more detailed information on the best approaches in this area, in measuring and understanding the social impact of various policies, activities, services or grants.

Climate Change

      Environmental change is a supportability issue that involves more than worries about carbon and vitality. With a specific end goal to address these issues associations should accomplish more, than just to make manageability reports. If we aim to a solution for the climate change, than we need deliberate actions from the governments, from world-wide associations, organizations, the common society and the individuals. GRI helps associations to deal with the full scope of atmosphere dangers, so they can move past the reports and make real moves.

      Non-state performers, including the business companies, have an indispensable part to play, in the fight against the environmental change. Keeping in mind the end goal to act, organizations need first of all to comprehend their commitment to the issue. Since 1997, GRI has offered measurements on the environmental change and these findings are the most often announced results, by associations which use the GRI standards in Sustainability Reporting (GRI Standards). GRI Standards give a typical dialect to the associations, in order to quantify, oversee and convey their utilization of carbon, of energy, of water and an extensive variety of different means.

Philanthropy

      Corporate social responsibility (CSR) practiced by companies has a positive influence on the whole society, on the environment, the consumers, employees and on communities generally speaking. A type of CSR would be philanthropic giving. It involves donating funds, services or goods to an organization or good cause, or for a social need. The promoters of corporate philanthropy were the businessman Henry Ford and John D. Rockefeller, in the 19th century and at beginning of the 20th century.

      The difference between corporate philanthropy and individual philanthropists is that the last ones invest in chance for their own interest. Many people criticize corporate philanthropy and doubt that it is connected to the main activity of an organization. This is due to the fact that many art organizations are sponsored by corporations from other industries, just in order to satisfy their owner´s hobbies.
